On this Wedding Wednesday, I am sharing a wedding that is close to my heart… my own!! Many of you may not know that Brian and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary this past March 28th. We didn’t do anything over the top as we are in the process of closing on our house and we have been trying to save all of our coins for furniture. With my birthday just on the horizon, I thought now would be a great time to share one of the best days of our lives.  Our creative team was excellent in executing our vision for the wedding. Brian and I still sit and reminisce about the day and just laugh at the GREAT time we had and our guests. That was one of my biggest focus areas of the wedding, is that our guests had a great time as well. I kind of look at a wedding like this. The ceremony is for you and your boo. The reception is for your guests.

We started the day with everyone getting dressed at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. I LOVED the location of where the ladies’ suite was located as we could literally walk down to the clubhouse. That morning consisted of the guys trying to get a couple of hours of sleep (they went out the night before) and the ladies just hanging out with a few Mimosas and Moonshine to get us through the day.

I think the guys had just as much as us ladies that morning as well. I got a phone call that morning from the best man’s fiance that Brian was alive and functioning and she was off to Waffle House for a run. Brian also let me know later that night the he and all of the guys got to the clubhouse on time to start getting dressed because he didn’t want any problems from me. LoL

Being that I have a degree in dance, one of the biggest elements I wanted to incorporate into the wedding was a flash mob. I knew that the morning of the wedding, there would be dance rehearsal somewhere because that’s just who I am and what I do. And of course around 1PM all of Vibrations Dance Company shows up at the suite to rehearse and just hang out. I think was one of the highlights of my day. VDC is like a second family to me. For the 6 years I was with the company, I saw these awesome ladies and gents AT LEAST 3 hours a day, 3 times a week on a minimum. We had sleepovers, Halloween parties, movie viewing parties, and just because parties!! So to be able to share such a special day with them was priceless and I was extremely happy that they wanted to be a part of the day.

One last note of the wedding day was the toast my brother gave. If you know Jerran, affectionately called Germ by me, you know he has a comedic heart and can you laughing until your side hurts in a matter of minutes. Well he didn’t disappoint. He even gave me back the Christmas bag he destroyed like 2 Christmas’ ago that he destroyed. You had to be there to know the story. How you cry and laugh through a toast, I’m not sure but I did. He let Brian know that he was VERY HAPPY that someone was taking a chance on me, but let him know that hey she is still my sister, so don’t do nothin crazy. I know where you live!! And every brother/sister duo should have a secret handshake.

All in all, Brian and I could relive that day over and over again!!
